Before voting to ignore public nuisance lots, one of the property owners and their associates gave council members almost $10,000.00.

Concerns had been raised by residents regarding the City Marketplace vacant lot and why the owner has not cleaned it up, while the Celtic Ray was cited for their parking lot.

It was discovered that one of owners of City Marketplace and their business associates donated $9,600 to the campaigns of City Council members who voted to take  no action on the City Marketplace.

The three incumbents failed to disclose this at the meeting.

In addition, the City Marketplace owner paid $3,000.00 for campaign parties for the council members.
